The 10-day local food challenge is happening in October – join in!
We challenge you to commit to eat for 10 days or more, food grown within 100 kilometres or less of home (with max. 10 non-local must haves)
Local nourishes your body, soul and your community. Initiatives such as ‘Totally Locally’ estimate that for every dollar spent in an independent local business it is reinvested five fold in the local economy. Imagine what you can do to help our food producers if you buy and eat local.
Local used to be the way everyone ate. Could it be again? Can we all bring our eating closer to home?
The 10-day Local Food Challenge is registered with Fair Food Week 2014 (fairfoodweek.org.au) and celebrated in conjunction with Feed Geelong (feedgeelong.org.au) occurring throughout the month of October and World Food Day on 16th of October (fao.org/world-food-day). The 10 – Day Local Food Challenge will be celebrated at Geelong Sustainability Drinks on the 22nd October. (geelongsustainability.org.au)
