6:30 pm To 9:00 pm

Randwick Sustainability Hub at Randwick Community Centre 27 Munda Street Randwick, NSW

Event Description

Friday 23 Oct — 6:30-9:00pm

As part of Fair Food Week 2015, Randwick City Council invites you to the screening of Edible City — the movie.

Edible City is a 55 minute documentary film that introduces a diverse cast of extraordinary characters who are challenging the paradigm of our broken food system.

The film digs deep into their unique perspectives and transformative work, finding inspirational, grass-roots solutions based on growing local food systems and economies.

Before the screening join us for refreshments for a chance to socialise and catch up with old friends and meet new ones.

Meet some of our local food related community groups at their stalls and have a chat.

After the screening there’s a facilitated discussion for you to participate in. After the facilitated discussion you are welcome to continue your conversations and help us with a quick clean-up.

See you there.

WHEN: Friday 23 October 2015
TIME: 6:30pm-9:00pm

Short description—organiser

The Randwick Community Centre has been retrofitted for energy and water efficiency with its photovoltaic panel array, wind turbine, interior improvements for energy and water efficiency, a range of rainwater harvesting and storage examples and its PIG (Permaculture Interpretive Garden) offers a plenty of take-home ideas that you can adapt to your own home and garden.

There is also a new reedbed toilet and drinking water filter station, where you can fill your water bottles for free. New additions are the Classroom made mostly from repurposed materials and a habitat trail to help interpret the adjacent Randwick Environment Park.

Come and visit us at the Randwick Sustainability Hub.

This activity is part of the Randwick City Council's Sustaining our City program.

A special environmental levy funds the Sustaining our City program to carry out specific environmental improvements and sustainability initiatives.
