Fair Food Week at The Organic Market on Macleay Island

Event Description

The “Chemical Free Islands” project (an island youth driven initiative) will be launched at our Fair Food Week event. Also on the day there will be organic produce available , a local beekeeper with natural raw honey sales, worm farming and worm farm products for sale, two island community gardens (BIMS Community Garden and Karragarra Community Garden) will have displays along with our local Coastcare group selling native plants. Learn all about backyard chicken keeping, bokashi compositing and Korean Natural Farming. Biological cleaning products will be available along with locally made jams, relishes and sauces. Other activities on the day include making wreaths from garden herbs, a seed savers swap table will be set-up and a pop-up cinema will be screening films throughout the day. Also a special Bush Tucker morning tea will be served at 10am (cost for morning tea $5.00)
