Event Description

Perth City Farm Markets

Open every Saturday from 8am – 12 noon

We have a vibrant market space attracting growers and producers who are organic, biodynamic, in organic conversion or are passionate about ethical and sustainable produce. Our markets are held outside, nestled amongst our green courtyard, creating a connection with the café and nursery for a warm and inviting atmosphere. Come and admire the fresh and homemade produce, or why not relax and have a beautifully prepared breakfast at the Perth City Farm Café whilst children can have fun in the play pit?

We also sell Perth City Farm produce, including Oyster Mushrooms and leafy green seedlings and micro-greens.

Philosophy – Our focus is to support local, organic and biodynamic growers and producers through making their produce directly available to the Perth community.

Perth City Farm

Short description—organiser

Perth City Farm is an urban community garden, education and network centre that operates on permaculture principles. Before becoming an organic permaculture centre, the site had been used as a scrap metal yard and a battery recycling plant. In transforming the site we demonstrated how vital agricultural processes could be enlisted to revitalise a city, bringing normally opposing environments of city and farm together to produce a whole much greater than the sum of it's parts. Our produce, markets and workshops make for healthy bodies, our community outreach and social programs make for healthy communities, our innovative sustainable practices and education centre make for a healthy city. Combined together all these make for a healthy planet.
