8:00 am To 1:00 pm

Gasworks Arts Park, Graham Street, Albert Park, Victoria, Australia

Event Description

Gasworks Arts Park is a diverse arts precinct that is sited within the remaining walls of the South Melbourne gas production plant. The parklands are surrounded by artists’ studios, theatres, galleries, cafe & workshops which are in constant use. The year-round program includes exhibitions, theatre, music, dance, circus and outdoor cinema. The park is owned by the City of Port Phillip and leased to Gasworks management; a not-for-profit arts organisation which produces the annual program of events and exhibitions.

The Gasworks Farmers’ Market started in January 2006 and brings together local food producers to make a direct connection with the people who eat their food. We are proud to have been named the Most Outstanding Farmers’ Market for 2012 in the delicious Produce Awards!

Melbourne Farmers Markets is a not-for-profit social enterprise running eight exemplary farmers’ markets. Our farmers markets are dedicated to Victorian food and producers, regional food cultures, seasonal produce, biodiversity, sustainable farming practices and the strengthening of relationships between the consumer and the producer. You won’t find wholesalers or big businesses at our markets, just real food direct from the people who produce it.
