Northcote Food Swap

October 11, 2014

October 11, 2014

11:00 am To 12:00 pm

251 High St Northcote Vic 3070

Event Description

Join us to talk up and work up your home food growing at Northcote Food Swap, Saturday 11th October.

Produce, seedlings, locally successful saved seeds, anecdotes and ideas will be swapped (and given) 11-12noon in the permaculture garden at Chalice, 251 High St Northcote.

Transition Darebin co-ordinate this most relaxed yet dynamic swap in a garden oasis with its own hidden cafe. Praise and gratitude to the Northcote Uniting Church Chalice crew, who have hosted us since 2011, and many other great local projects as well.

Specially for Fair Food Week, crafter Anne Thoday will be teaching tension trays, a very quick, easy and durable weaving technique that uses garden prunings. If you have garden fibre on hand, bring it along with a cutting / pruning tool, and we will also provide the neccessaries.
