PermaBee in the Permaculture Interpretive Garden

October 17, 2015

October 17, 2015

2:30 pm To 5:00 pm

Permaculture Interpretive Garden, Randwick Community Centre, 27 Munda Street, Randwick

Event Description

Come gardening with us for our Community Volunteer PermaBee in the Permaculture Interpretive Garden.

Join permaculture landscape designer and horticulturalist Emma Daniel while we plant out, weed, harvest, maintain the compost and propagating vegies in the Permaculture Interpretive Garden (PIG).

The PIG is a community park rather than a community garden—an edible landscaped public park used also as a training venue for Randwick Council’s Living Smart and Organic Gardening courses.

Short description—organiser

The Randwick Community Centre has been retrofitted for energy and water efficiency with its photovoltaic panel array, wind turbine, interior improvements for energy and water efficiency, a range of rainwater harvesting and storage examples and its PIG (Permaculture Interpretive Garden) offers a plenty of take-home ideas that you can adapt to your own home and garden.

There is also a new reedbed toilet and drinking water filter station, where you can fill your water bottles for free.
