October 19, 2014

7:00 am To 12:00 am

Canberra Institute of Technology, Hindmarsh Drive, Phillip, ACT

Event Description

Slow Food Canberra is combining with the Southside Farmers Market to present a Slow Soup Kitchen on Sunday, 19 October 2014, from 7am until sold out.

So here is a ‘three for the price of one’ deal you just can’t refuse!

Support your local growers and producers by doing your shopping at the Market, celebrate Fair Food Week and enjoy a delicious soup, home made from seasonal produce. And you get to pay what you think the soup is worth, or what you can afford – a good way to reflect on the important work that growers and producers do to bring our food from ‘paddock to plate’ in ethical and sustainable ways.

Southside Farmers Market operates every Sunday morning at the Canberra Institute of Technology, cnr Ainsworth Street and Hindmarsh Drive, Phillip.  You can find out more about the Market.

Slow Food Canberra

Short description—organiser

Slow Food Canberra is a member of the international Slow Food movement, which seeks to promote 'good, clean and fair' food.  Within the 'Capital region' of southern NSW, we support the development of a resilient local food community through building links between local food producers and consumers.

We try to do this by raising awareness of food system issues, arranging visits to local producers to find out about how our food is produced and understanding the journey from paddock to plate - while celebrating the joy of good food and wine in the company of family and friends !
